Three’s Patch Clothing Masterpost!

Inspired by @genderfluid-and-confuzled ’s own masterpost of his jackets, this is all three of my projects I have been actively adding to over the past year and a half!

The jacket that started it all for me, DisA. I started work on DisA all the way back in January 2022 [See my one year post for progress photos.] and she’s been my main jacket for a lot of that time. If it’s cold enough to wear a denim jacket, I’ll be wearing DisA a lot of that time. Very full of pins and patches from that year of collecting, including a bunch of pins I found on the ground or was gifted.

I recently reorganized all the pins, so it may not perfectly line up with past photos, but this is photos I took following that so it’s quite accurate at this moment.

My favourite piece is probably my handpainted art of Enne’s House from VOIDWORLD, a comic by fellow tumblr users @wizard0rb and @musicsmithy . Appreciate you guys!

With my jacket covered, I have to go on to my Pink vest! I recently did the back’s artwork in preparation for the pride parade this year, and I posted these pics here already as a precursor to this masterpost because I’m finally happy with it, however most patches were added a while ago. The vest is really nice for this summer, because it’s really damn hot out lately.

The back of the vest has patch from the now closed shop run by Lauren of Stick and Poke, a fantastic Canadian Folk Punk band. That patch is probably the most treasured part of this vest to me, but it also has the pin set for Chloe and Max from life is strange on the pockets. Really had to take good care of those so they don’t get too worn or damaged because they stopped selling those as well.

Finally, my pants! they got ripped, so I decided to put patches on them. These are still quite blank because I haven’t found much I want to put on them, but I encourage any friend who’s physically around me when I have them to draw or write on them, because I have done that a bit and want more people to do that too.

Most notable thing about these is that the big tan patch on the front is an extra pocket as well.

Those are my three patch projects! I love them all very much as you can probably tell. I also have a history of working on other people’s jackets and such, it’s somewhat my thing, but I don’t have super great photos of some of that. @tacocat7997 ’s jacket was a lot of my handiwork, so if he takes photos and adds them in a reblog, I’ll reblog the addition. Also worked on another friend’s very recently, but it’s still a work in progress, and I’m handing it back to them soon.

Also, because it was only to mend it, I left out my leather trenchcoat. I added a crow patch to that shoulder after it was ripped open against a brick wall because of some Nazi assholes chasing me. Fucking high school. Adios you wretched place.

hi i do not like how some of you people have been using the term ‘egg’ lately. i also hate how you talk to gnc people. thank you.

dysphoria-things

so ‘egg’ refers to a trans person who has not yet realized they are trans and are in denial. usually one refers to themself in this context. i dont see this happening much to gnc women because its much normaler for a woman to be butch than for a man to be femme. but like.

if you know a man who is more femme. they may very well be a trans woman. and that is for them to figure out on their own. but yall see any man who isnt masc in the slightest bit and go ‘this must be a closeted trans woman’ no. shut up. being a trans woman is more than being a feminine male person. not only do i think youre not normal abt gnc men but i also think you are not normal about trans women.

its incredibly rude to call someone an egg for being gnc. what if we all minded our own business.

When I was in high school, a very close friend of mine used to call me an egg, and honestly? It made it harder to eventually realize that I was trans. I didn't feel safe exploring being a gnc man, because if I did, I would be called a girl, something that normally wouldn't bother me, except that it was coming from someone who was serious. They actually meant it, and that caused me to get defensive, and I never realized that I might actually be trans until after I graduated. So, if your friend wears nail polish, or complains about not being able to grow their hair out due to a uniform policy, don't tell them who they are. No matter what, actually, don't tell anybody who they are. Literally just let people be who they are. Even if you know who they are more than they do, you don't actually, so zip it.

dysphoria-things

when i identified as nonbinary, a lot of people joked that i was a trans guy in denial(i thought calling myself nonbinary was a safer way of being trans and that it meant i wasnt really trans, it was sucky) and it made it so much harder to tell people i was a guy, because i have a general attitude of “if you said i couldnt be this then im going to because fuck you!”

lily-on-the-fence

The Egg Prime Directive is a thing for a reason!! Never call someone an egg untill they have cracked, no matter how much you suspect they're an egg or how long it takes for then to crack!

Figuring out you're trans is a super personal and disorienting experience. It has to be your own realization or your brain will be like "outside attack, protect!!" You'll end up entrenching them even further and making cracking harder for them.

hang on one more Nimona thing i realized. I'm so used to movies where the protagonist is inherently talented with no reason and is able to overpower the antagonists. Like, they're always unexplainably powerful and "oh wow, this person is stronger than these other people that have been training for years."

So, on my first watch, I thought that's what it was for Ballister. He fought a bunch of his fellow knights, overpowered them, disarmed the prodigy, Goldenloin.

THEN i rewatched, paid more attention, and holy shit. He's been like this since the beginning.

image
image

And then i started to notice the little things that subtly supported this.

image
image

He makes his own arm, that must take intellectual skill. He grabs a can that was about the fall off the shelf and make noise, without even looking at it.

image
image

And during the fight scene at the institute!! At first, I was like ok, typical protagonist fight scene where they overpower tons of other people. Because Plot.

image
image

But no!! the more i think about it, it's reasonable. It's established early on that Ballister is competent, he's skilled. He's very aware of things going on around him. He's able to knock out knights that around coming up behind him without looking, swiftly disable opponents.

Rewatching it always makes me go back and see these characters in a new light. So my view on Ballister went from "ah, mess of a man that's put in a tough situation. Able to do these crazy things because they're necessary to the plot." to "Oh he's competent!! That's the point!! He's still a mess but :0"

it is insane how fucking tiny these buttons are did they not like. consider the concept of UI scaling like at all. did they not consider what theyd do if someone had a big monitor. what is this shit

image
txttletale

why asre there two post buttons. why do i get little numbers next to 'home' and 'following' when btoh are giving me the exact same information. why is it that when you open the account view you have the exact same information on both sides of your screen. why is it that the activity popup obscuires the dashboard now instead of the 1000000 miles of empty space on my god damn desktop. did they not consider the concept of UI scaling at all?????

txttletale

when i first saw people p[ostp about this i thought maybe they were overreacting because they hate twitter and change but like. whatever you think abotu the concept of 'putting all this shit on the left side of your screen' as a bold UI innovation or whatever in concept this shit is like. just straight up unfinished. like i legitimately dont understand how this was considered ready to roll out to users

why does the activity popup open on the ONE part of my screen i DONT want to be obscured when im using tumblr dot com!!
